DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1687712859646{margin-bottom: 50px !important;}”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text css=””] \nJoin us for an fun evening learning about these incredible flying mamals.\n  \n  \nAn exciting opportunity to join a local ecologist and bat expert Jessica Cole.  We’ll kick off just before dusk with a short talk about our native bat species\, followed by a twilight walk around the Wytch Wood Campsite\, Blackmore ancient woodlands and the neighbouring farmland. \nYou will get the chance to (hopefully) see and hear the bats* and learn about these amazing native species with a talk from our local expert before the walk. \n  \nJessica will supply bat detectors which help to locate and identify the bats in the area\, and will share knowledge about the lives of bats\, the differences in species and the threat to these flying mammals in the UK. \nThe bat walk will be after dark\, so make sure you wrap up warm. and wear sturdy footwear. \n  \n*As bats are wild animals we cannot guarantee that they will be out on the evening of the bat walk and talk.  But they are spotted on every dry evening. \n  \nYou are welcome to enjoy this event for free however there is a £5 ticket is available with all proceeds going to the Bat Conservation Trust. \n  \n\nContact enquiries@wytch-wood.co.uk for more information or book tickets below.\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”7333\,7332\,7335\,7331″ img_size=”300*300″ css=”” title=”Bat Walks at Wytch Wood”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

It doesn’t take great strength; in fact\, technique far outweighs throwing them hard\, and it is so rewarding to hear the thud of the axe as it sticks in the target. \nWe have special “soft axes” for the little ones\, up to Norse throwing axes for the older ones! \n  \n4.30–6pm | Archery\nFind your inner Robin Hood and try your hand at Archery – can you hit the inner circle? \nYou will have the opportunity to practice with instruction and coaching to improve your aim.
