Oak Tree Island is our most secluded camping pitch making it perfect for couples or small families to escape to.
Set on a patch of dry land in the woods, access to Oak Tree Island is via a raised boardwalk or bridge. The pitch has views into the woodland and out over neighbouring horse paddocks to the East.
Oak Tree Island is reached by around 150m walk, so you might need to borrow the wheelbarrow to make moving your gear easier. One of our smaller pitches, there is space for small/medium size tents (no big bell tents or long tunnel tents) – no room for a pup tent on this pitch.
The Oak Tree Island camping pitch is best for:
⇒ Wilder camping and seclusion
⇒ Small and medium size tents
⇒ Hammock tents
⇒ Solo travellers, couples and small families
⇒ Sleeps up to 4 (Max 3 adults and teens)
This pitch is not suitable for:
⊗ Big tents, tunnel tents, bell tents over 4m
⊗ Lots of gear – 150m walk to the pitch
⊗ Pup tents – only room for one tent
You will have your own compost loo, table and seating and firepit with grill plus access to the hot showers, washing up station and all other communal site facilities.
Please note: it is around 150m to carry your gear to this pitch – you cannot access with a car to unload. This is our most “wild spot” and is in the trees, it’s not completely flat but plenty of room to pitch.
Stays on the Oak Tree Island camping pitch are for a minimum of 2-nights in the summer holidays and 1-night at all other times. Minimum 1 person.
