Spalted Beech
Set in a little thicket on the edge of the main wood, this pitch includes a decorative stack of Beechwood which was found to have unusual “spalting” markings when it was felled.

Located on the edge of the woodland, with extra privacy from some mature Hawthorn trees
Spalted Beech is a large, flexible pitch set in a little thicket of ancient Hawthorn trees on the edge of the main wood benefiting from views up the valley.
The seating area for Spalted Beech is tucked away between the thorn trees and the stack of spalted beech logs for extra privacy and shelter. In the spring the hawthorns are covered in pretty pink and white blossom and in the autumn in bright red berries.
You will have access to your own fire pit as well – but please don’t burn the logs from the stack – they are decoration only!
The Spalted Beech camping pitch is best for:
⇒ All tents, with space for a pup tent
⇒ Campervans, trailer tents and rooftop tents
⇒ Sun and shade
⇒ Sleeps up to 6 in total (max 4 adults and teens)
This pitch is not suitable for:
⊗ Solo campers or couples
⊗ Further from the café and wash-ups
⊗ Solitude lovers
You will have sole use of a large rustic wooden table, a fire pit with a grill, and your own compost loo on your plot. It can be booked with pitch 4 or pitch 6 for small groups or large families.
You will also have access to the hot showers, washing up area and all other facilities at Wytch Wood.
Stays on this pitch are a minimum of 4 nights during summer holidays and 2 nights at all other times. Minimum 3 guests.

Key Information
- Check in from 2pm.
- Check out by 11am.
- Party size – minimum 3 people, maximum 6 people in total (max 4 adults and teens). You cannot exceed the maximum occupants per pitch.
- We do not accept dogs other than support dogs.
- Wytch Wood is a quiet campsite. No amplified music is allowed on site and respectful levels of noise at all times, especially after dark.
- Minimum stay for Spalted Beech is 4 nights during school holidays, and 2 nights at all other times.

Cancellations
- If cancelled six weeks or more before your arrival date we will refund your payment less a 20% admin fee and the £12 Greener Camping Club membership fee (which is not refundable).
- In the event that we are unable re-let your dates, no refund will be made.
- Bookings are not transferable without our prior agreement with us in writing.
