Forest School Activities Arrive at Wytch Wood Campsite!
We are super excited to share some new forest-based activity sessions at Wytch Wood Camping this summer.
We have teamed up with Graceful Badger Forest School to bring you 2-hours of forest fun for your young woodland adventurers.
Forest School Sessions at Wytch Wood
Two Forest School sessions will take place during the day – one aimed at younger children in the morning and one for older children in the afternoon.
Taking inspiration from full Forest Schools activities, children can explore and learn about the natural woodland through practitioner-led sessions and activities.
Each session is 1-hour 45 minutes, and includes all activities, drinks and healthy snacks.
Forest School facilitates more than just knowledge-gathering.
Badger Forest School strives to provide children with experiences that encourage the building of confidence, self-esteem, independence, so they are ready to take part in lifelong learning.
This is done through small achievable tasks and developed over regular sessions. We strongly promote appreciation, awareness and knowledge of the natural environment throughout the seasons, using all their senses, learning to respect and care for the environment.
Forest School Activities help children develop socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically and intellectually. Forest School creates a safe, non-judgemental, nurturing environment for children to try stuff out and take risks.
Badger Forest School supports play, exploration and supported risk taking meaning that learners constantly expand on their abilities by solving real-world issues, building self-belief and resilience.
They believe that risk is more than just the potential for physical harm, but a more holistic thing, there are risks in everything we do, and we grow by overcoming them.
