(MAX 6 ADULTS & TEENS)
Surrounded by majestic beech trees, this spacious family pitch offers a cosy retreat. Imagine gathering around a campfire with your loved ones under a starry sky, making memories that will last a lifetime.
Pheasant Fold has two camping areas – a large circular, level pitch approx 10m diameter, and a second slightly sloping area – both set in the peaceful woodland.
Under the high Beech trees, we can accommodate most tent types and suit larger family groups – though we are a quiet site. Whilst still private, it is situated close to Pitch 1, and these pitches can be booked together to take over this whole area of the woodland.
You have sole use of a rustic log seating area and a second log table, firepit with grill and your own compost loo.
The Pheasant Fold camping pitch is best for:
⇒ Larger families or small groups with 2 tents
⇒ Large tunnel tents and bell tents
⇒ Hammock tents and tree tents
⇒ Being close to café and amenities
⇒ Sleeps up to 8 (Max 6 adults and teens)
This pitch is not suitable for:
⊗ Campervans, trailer tents or rooftop tents
⊗ Parties and noisy groups
⊗ Solitude seekers – close to Pitch 1 and the communal areas
⊗ Small groups/couples – minimum 4 people
Guests are reminded that although this pitch is open to slightly larger groups, we are a quiet site. Guests are politely reminded that there is no music allowed and are required to keep noise to a respectful level, especially after dark.
You have access to the hot showers and washing-up area, and a communal seating area. Please note: in the spring, the second area contains a lot of wild garlic!
The minimum stay on the Pheasant Fold camping pitch is 4 nights during school holidays and 2 nights at all other times. Minimum 2 guests.

EXCELLENT Based on 128 reviews Posted on Google Daniel StreatTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Beautiful location and wonderful low-impact facilities. We loved the pizza, foraging for wild strawberries, paddling in the stream and lying in hammocks in the woods. One of the best campsites we’ve ever been to.Posted on Google Toby Westcott-WhiteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This campsite is fantastic! We had a lovely pitch right by the stream and enjoyed the fire pit. The facilities were excellent with compost toilets at each pitch. Unfortunately, we missed out on the pizza, coffee shop and bar as they were closed during our visit outside of school holidays and during the working week. We highly recommend this site.Posted on Google Peter McWhinney-TrippTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. As others have said, it's a lovely secluded place and well kept. Camping area surrounded by trees. Kids can run about. Facilities are great for a low impact site; hot water, shelters and pizza preordered etc.Posted on Google BISTRO CHEFTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We just had a magical family weekend at Wytch wood camping! A massive thank you to Elise and her team for a great welcoming and amazing services. We sincerely hope to return ☺️Posted on Google Sarah BlakeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A really wonderful camping experience in every way. The campsite is quiet and peaceful, and the pitches are a good size and laid out so that it never feels crowded. Each pitch has its own (very clean) compost loo. The washing up area and showers were kept very clean, and were well stocked with eco products. The honesty shop sells useful items and there are books to borrow and board games to play in the indoor communal seating area. There is a firepit and seating plus a table at each pitch. Elise, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. The road to the campsite is a bit bumpy, but nothing that should put anyone off from staying at this hidden gem of a campsite.Posted on Google Oli CTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Beautiful site, everything done in a very eco-conscious way, loved it! Pizza was also amazing, thank you 😋Posted on Google Duncan GraingerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Such a beautiful place and fantastic owner. We are already looking forward to going back next year! The site is brilliantly maintained and the facilities are top notch.Posted on Google Jenny CoxTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were lucky enough to get a last minute booking over the August bank holiday in the skyview bell tent. 4 of us including 2 children. We were blessed with gorgeous weather and both the bell tent and entire site were amazing. I've never been able to go to sleep watching the stars above or wake up to the trees and blue skies overhead. There was ample board games and outdoor games to keep the children (and us adults) entertained. We all adored watching the bats of an evening too. The showers were powerful and clean. Loved having access to the beautifully scented shower products, that was a treat in itself! The compost loos were also no problem at all. We enjoyed marshmallows over the camp fire and walks into the forest and around the local countryside. The honesty shop was just great and we enjoyed having access to some chilled local cider and the kids loved having an ice cream each day. The coffee truck with morning pastries was also a real treat. The lady in charge of the site was very friendly and helpful as were others we met in passing who were running some kids activities etc. we are so blessed to have this place just down the road from us. We will most definitely be back. Thank you for the most wonderful stay.
