New for summer 2024 – wild camping pitches in the Hidden Dell at Wytch Wood Camping.
Our wildest camping location yet – a new area of woodland beside the stream has been prepared to accommodate up to 3 small tents – simply pick a spot in the Hidden Dell and relax.
A newly managed area of the woodland beside the stream is our most flexible area, with campers able to choose where to pitch their tent. This pitch is restricted to small tents and hammock tents. Perfect for couples, families or small groups with multiple small tents or hammocks. It is great for anyone looking to get some peace, these are some of our most secluded pitches.
Pitching areas are the following sizes – 4x3m, 2x3m, 2x3m and 2x2m. If staying in multiple tents, please make sure all your tents will fit! Get in touch to discuss if you are unsure.
Hidden Dell camping pitches are best for:
⇒ Solo travellers and couples, small groups
⇒ Small tents and hammock tents
⇒ Single night stopovers
⇒ Nature and forest lovers, bird watchers and wild camping fans
⇒ Sleeps up to 6 (max 6 adults and teens)
This pitch is not suitable for:
⊗ Campervans, rooftop tents and trailer tents
⊗ Large or medium sized tents
⊗ Sun lovers
Perfect for stopovers, there is no minimum stay, so can be booked from 1 night. Access is via a footbridge, so you will have to carry your gear for at least 30m.
Seating area, firepit and compost loo are provided for your sole use. You will also have access to the communal facilities of hot showers, washing up area, water points and covered café/bar area.
Stays in the Hidden Dell camping pitches are for a minimum of 1 night at all times. Minimum 1 guest.

All pricing is per person, per night:
Key Information
- Check in from 2pm.
- Check out by 11am.
- Party size – minimum 1 person, maximum 6 people (max 6 adults and teens). You cannot exceed the maximum occupants per pitch.
- We do not accept dogs other than support dogs.
- Wytch Wood is a quiet campsite. No amplified music is allowed on site and respectful levels of noise at all times, especially after dark.
- Minimum stay for the Hidden Dell is 1 night at all times.

Cancellations
- If cancelled six weeks or more before your arrival date we will refund your payment less a 20% admin fee and the £12 Greener Camping Club membership fee (which is not refundable).
- In the event that we are unable re-let your dates, no refund will be made.
- Bookings are not transferable without our prior agreement with us in writing.
- You are advised to take out travel insurance. See our full booking terms and conditions.
