Fairy House Workshop | 20th July 2026
Aim of the Workshop:
To encourage creativity, imagination, connection with nature, and hands-on crafting in a relaxed and playful environment.
Duration:
1 hour 30 minutes, divided into two parts:
• 45 minutes: Introduction, inspiration, and woodland walk to gather natural materials. Children will be shown one or several examples of tiny fairy houses before collecting twigs, leaves, bark, moss, and other natural elements from the woodland area.
• 45 minutes: Creative building session in the barn. Children will use the collected materials to design and build their own fairy house.
Group Size:
A maximum of 4 to 6 children to ensure a calm, safe, and supportive creative environment.
Materials Provided:
- Glue guns (used under supervision)
- A selection of recycled materials
- Dried moss, twigs, wood pieces, and additional decorative natural materials
Workshop Structure
1. Welcome and introduction to fairy houses
2. Short woodland walk to gather natural materials. Children will also be encouraged to gather their own natural resources during the woodland walk.
3. Return to the barn workspace
4. Guided creative session to build individual fairy houses
5. Time to share and admire the finished creations
- Who is it for? Suitable for children aged 6 to 12 years old.
- Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes
- Where? The tree garden, meet by the barn.
- Cost: £12 per child
