#StandWithUkraine 10% Booking donations in March

Hello from Wytch Wood!  It’s been a while since the last post but we’ve been busy over the winter with lots of projects going on to make things even better for 2022.  While we do have lots of news to share, its actually international news that’s got me writing today.

#standwithukraine

#Standwithukraine – 10% of your booking donated when you book in March
The situation in Ukraine is impossible for any of us to ignore right now. I know personally I’m struggling to understand how a conflict like this can happen in the 21st century, and have felt helpless to know what I can do in any meaningful way.

This is the first time I’ve had my own business and I’ve taken the decision to donate 10% of bookings made direct with Wytch Wood during March, to the Disaster Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. Our government matches all donations made via this appeal (up to £25m) and the funds are distributed between 15 main charities – so it feels like a fund that can really help make a difference.

How does it work?

  • Make your booking direct with Wytch Wood either by emailing us at [email protected] or online on our booking pages before 1st April 2022
  •  You must make your booking with us direct, not through Cool Camping
  • Your stay at Wytch Wood can be anytime in 2022 – we are open May – September
  •  10% of your accommodation value (booking value excluding £12 Greener Camping Club Membership) will be donated on your behalf to the DEC fund.
  • One payment will be made to the DEC at the end of March to cover all the booking contributions and will we publish the total amount donated.
  • If you do not wish a donation to be made on your behalf, please make this known at time of booking

Personal Note

Other than general horror at the humanitarian situation, it’s been made all the more real by my Ukranian friend, Olga, who’s mum is stranded in a basement in the Ukranian city of Chernihiv. I take for granted being able to see my mum every day and I cannot imagine what she must be going through. I hope this can show some solidarity and help in some small way.

Stay in touch

There are lots of exciting things coming up in 2022 at Wytch Wood that are nearly ready to share – daily food options, seasonal events, electricity! But I wanted to get this message out as quickly as possible to you now, so please  watch out for hear more news about what we’ll have going on this year.

Take care out there!
