WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

CREATURE COMFORTS @ WYTCH WOOD

We love adding the little extras that make your holiday a bit more comfortable and enjoy a few creature comforts to make you feel at home.

Communal barn – The Wytch Wood Hub

The barn is there for everyone to use – great when it’s raining, or really hot or just as somewhere to hang out and play a game.

We’ve tried to add some little things to make your stay a bit easier, and avoid those annoying little trips out.

The Wytch Wood coffee shop

We love coffee. So we serve it every weekend morning and every day during peak times.

Serving our own blend specially prepared by a local roastery in Axminster you can have a fresh barista made drink to your liking or even take a bag of coffee home with you.

Wytch Wood pizza oves

Pizza and food nights

You can’t miss the pizza oven – this Italian beauty grabs everyone’s attention!

Fired up every Saturday and Wednesday in July and August – you can watch your hand-stretched pizza prepared and cooked to order in front of you.

Check the calendar for all dates and menus with seasonal specials.

Weekend bar

We stock a fully licensed bar and are open on the weekends.

Try out some refreshing local beers and ciders. Everything is sourced from within 15 miles – these aren’t brands you’ll find in the supermarket. The bar itself was second hand from a local brewery tap room!

Electric charging points

We can’t promise you a signal, but we can help you keep your phone and small devices charged. We have three charging points set up in the communal barn for you to use.

Board games, outdoor games and hammocks

Lots to choose from for all ages – from backgammon to battleships.

We’ve also got badminton, croquet, and french skittles for you to enjoy. Help yourself and please pack up when you’re done.

Wytch Wood Campsite Shop

We’ve got the basics covered with firewood and charcoal, firelighters and matches.

And then a few little treats as well like marshmallows, cold drinks and local Baboo Gelato. We don’t have a card reader, so start a tab and pay when you leave.

Communal fridge and freezer

Keep fresh things fresh, and cool boxes cool, with our communal fridge.

It’s not huge but it should help make life a little bit easier. Please be mindful when we are busy and don’t hog it with slabs of beer!

We spent 4 nights at Wytch Wood and without a doubt it’s one of the most beautiful camp sites we’ve had the pleasure of spending time at.The design of the site has been creativly curated so that each pitch offers a unique array of surroundings, as well as easy access to shared amenities and each with it’s own compost loo, fire pit, table and chairs. Next to the main campsite is a path to a hillside wood with a 500m walk that has been carefully carved through it, which twists and turns and gives you a short exhibit of the wonders of the forest. The well stocked 24hr honesty shop and bar (each pitch has a clipboard for you to document what you’ve used) was a highlight, as it meant more time soaking up the site and less time driving to shops.Although we didn’t choose these - The Glamping options seemed very well considered and cost effective. We’d be very interested in trying them out next time!Elise and Lucy were Incredibly accommodating and hospitable. Their care and love of the site communicates, with work being done upgrading and maintaining all areas. The pizza oven, morning coffee and array of woods activities are just some of the details that show Wytch Wood really goes above and beyond to better the experience for campers. This campsite is a definite find, and I could not recommend it more!

Absolutely amazing campsite. Beautiful scenery and great amenities. Wood fired pizza was delicious and the morning coffee and evening bar were a nice bonus. The activities were fun too. We would happily return.

Just had a fantastic bank holiday weekend here. First time campers as a family and we couldn't have asked for more. The pitches are set well apart from each other with their own seating and loo. The pizzas are absolutely delicious and were wolfed down by all. There's a bar and an honesty shop for bits and pieces you may have forgotten (and ice cream). For the children, there are woods to explore and streams to play in. Thank you for a great time!

We've just returned after a lovely 2 night stay at Wytch Wood. The campsite is really sympathetically laid out with plenty of space between pitches, giving you the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. Despite this feeling there was plenty of convenience, good washing up facilities, a well stocked bar with local beers and ciders (bottles), fresh coffee in the mornings, and looks to be wood fired pizzas coming soon.On our pitch we had our own fire pit, private composite loo and a decent table with 4 chairs, which was a great touch. There was a really nice 500m circular walk accessible directly at the back of the site which the kids loved, through old woodland, along babbling brooks and passed carpets of bluebells and wild garlic.Elise, the host, was fantastic from start to end. She clearly cares about the campsite and people's enjoyment and was always on hand to help out or answer any questions. The only slight downside was due to the heavy rain we had during our stay the pitch we were on got slightly water logged and our van got stuck, but Elise came to the rescue with wood chippings and a bunch of fellow campers to help push us out!In short, a great place to stay for a back to nature vibe, we'll be back!

What an amazing place!!! Spent a wonderful weekend here - one of the best campsites we have ever been to. The host Elise is so thoughtful, the care that has gone into every aspect of the campsite made it so special - from a hammock by the river, to complimentary toiletries in the showers, it felt like we were in an oasis! The woods the campsite sits in is so peaceful, and made for exploring through. We loved using the fire pit provided every night. Can’t wait to come back next year 🌲🏕🍂

We enjoyed a spontaneous, (almost) last-minute weekend at Wytch Wood in their new Skyview glamping tent. We needed to get away from the grind of the weekly routine and were looking for somewhere peaceful and quiet, where we could essentially just laze around for a weekend enjoying each other's company. Wytch Wood was just perfect for that purpose!Skyview is a large glamping tent with clear roof panels, meaning you can literally lie in bed looking at the stars. It was a lovely novelty, though we were glad it was possible to hook up the panels and keep out the worst of the early morning light. It was fantastic when it rained during the day, though. Being able to see the rain hammering down above you while being warm and dry was a great feeling.Skyview comes with a porch/kitchen area and a separate kitchen outside, as well as a table and chairs, firepit and hammock. You also get your own compost toilet and there's a small shower block very close by. You barely need to move more than a few feet for anything, which was just what we needed! That said, there is also plenty of woodland to explore if you want to be a bit more adventurous (we couldn't due to one of our family members being injured). We will be returning.
