We believe Wytch Wood Camping has a lot to offer families and individuals with special educational needs. We respect that every child has different needs, and that a camping holiday and connecting with nature can be beneficial, even therapeutic and help to develop independence.

If you’re thinking about camping for the first time, or just the first time with us, we are always happy to discuss individual needs.

CHOOSE YOUR PITCH

HERE ARE SOME WAYS WYTCH WOOD CAN HELP YOU WITH YOUR STAY:

Many of our pitches are set in the woodland, offering shade and cover to those with sensitivity to light and heat.
Pitches are all spacious and offer privacy from your neighbours, with most having their own compost loo, so you can keep separate if you prefer.
We can accommodate large tents so you have plenty of room to create a familiar space with your own equipment and surroundings.
We are a quiet site, with no amplified music and quiet after 10 pm. Some pitches are set beside running water, which offers a particularly soothing soundscape.
We allow hammocks or have some to borrow, if your child benefits from using a therapy swing.
We run small group activities such as soft archery and crafting, all in a supervised environment.

We have a range of pitches and environments and can help identify which might be best suited to different requirements. If you need more space, if you need a larger pitch or one with easily identifiable boundaries, if you need quiet or shade – we can help with that.

PLANNED ACCESSIBILITY IMPROVEMENTS

While we welcome everyone who loves nature to come and enjoy Wytch Wood Camping, the campsite and cafe are not currently set up to offer safe access for wheelchair users or guests with significant mobility issues.

This is something we are working on and hope to soon be able to offer at least one pitch that has increased support available, including things like grab rails in loos and showers, and a shower seat.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing quiet and peaceful site with only twelve pitches, each with their own loo.  Showers and washing up areas very clean.  There is an 'honesty shop' which was very useful and the host Elise was so helpful and welcoming.  Thoroughly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful break.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We absolutely love Wytch Wood campsite. It is our favorite campsite of the UK and we have been here 3 times yet because of that. Elise is a wonderful host, makes you feel very welcome. The site is beautiful and all the activities (yoga, workshops for children/adults, pizza night) are great. Her staff is very friendly & helpful. And last but not least…so many lovely animals in the field and their own ‘fairytale like’ forrest (sheep, horses, bats, deer, owls). Fantastic! Heel ruime plekken tussen de bomen, elk met een eigen compost-toilet, vuurschaal en grill. Elise runt de plek met zoveel toewijding en doet het allemaal: van een barista-waardige flatwhite in de ochtend tot zuurdesempizza’s in de steenoven op woensdagavonden. We bleven hier 5 nachten met onze baby en konden hier helemaal ontspannen. Voldoende uitstapjes in de buurt! Absolute aanrader voor wie houdt van eco-camping. We’ll be back!

The facilities were excellent with compost toilets at each pitch. Unfortunately, we missed out on the pizza, coffee shop and bar as they were closed during our visit outside of school holidays and during the working week. We highly recommend this site.
