Formerly known as the Sunday School in Merriott, this beautiful historic Grade II Listed building has been sympathetically restored into a characterful cafe using lime-based products and horse hair, whilst retaining its history and original features.
There is a charming wood-burning stove to create a warm cosy feeling in the winter and for the summer months, a delightful secluded courtyard with outdoor seating.
We are lucky enough to have The Feed Station just 6 miles from Wytch Wood Camping.
It is one of the UK’s best cycle cafes and is located in the nearby village of Merriott. At around 6 miles from Wytch Wood, it’s a lovely bike ride away, with a few hills thrown in so you really appreciate your cake! Of course you can drive there too.
The owners are keen cyclists themselves who often design a route to incorporate a cafe that will welcome cyclists and have recently won the “Cycling cafe of the year” award!
Whether you’re muddy from an off road route, or a MAMIL, The Feed Station offers safe bike storage and serves great food and drinks.
They are open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and some evenings, and are dog friendly too. They are fully licensed as well so if you are looking for a cheeky G&T, chilled glass of bubbles and a sharing platter, they can whip up a storm in the kitchen.
The Feed Station is not just for cyclists though; It appeals to all – ramblers, dog walkers, the young and the old. Their intention is to encourage visitors and locals by sharing cycling and walking routes within the local area. And, you get to top your activity off with a delicious breakfast, spot of lunch or just a coffee and cake in a great place. We love it there and are very happy to recommend it.
Opening times can vary depending on time of year, so checking ahead or booking is advised.
