Forest Bathing | 16th August 2026
In our Forest Bathing sessions, we will be engaging all of our senses to connect with nature and benefit from the natural healing properties of the beautiful woodland at Wytch Wood.
We will explore various meditation techniques such as mindful walking and visualisation practices alongside sensory activities, creative group activities using natural materials and a tea ceremony to finish to reset our nervous systems, relax in nature and enjoy being outdoors.
Structure:
1. Introduction talk: an introduction to forest bathing, the trees of Wytch Wood, how forest bathing works and the healing effects of the practice.
2. Mindful walk into the woodland, initial exploration of the trees and plants.
3. Seated guided meditation session to calm the nervous system and connect with the woodland.
4. Organic mandala exercise: engaging all of our senses by interacting with the woodland through collecting natural materials to create a group mandala on the woodland floor.
5. Walking meditation through the woodland.
6. Tea ceremony to finish, on the edge of the woodland, allowing time for reflection and discussion.
